The Endocannabinoid System

What does the Endocannabinoid System Consist of?

The endocannabinoid system is made up of two receptors known as CB1 and CB2. The CB1 receptors can be found in the brain and nervous system and are not directly stimulated by CBD. However, the CB2 receptors are found in the immune system and are stimulated by the CBD while it also activates other receptors known as adenosine and serotonin. This interaction helps to release neurotransmitters that have a positive effect on pain perception, nausea, inflammation and motor control among many other things.
